Idaho’s Pride

PART ONE

Despite what you’ve been told, Idaho’s government IS pushing radical sex ed curriculum, teaching ‘porn literacy’, hosting LGBT clubs in schools and funding gender transition therapy

And it’s happening in Magic Valley schools

Editor’s note: Our many thanks to Anna Miller, Dr Scott Yenor and Kaitlyn Shepherd of Idaho Freedom Foundation for providing the references for this article. I urge you to click on the links provided.

Porn literacy/radical sex ed

Idaho’s Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW) has implemented sex education curriculum endorsed by Planned Parenthood in schools. The curriculum and training for sex education facilitators is purchased from an interest group that promotes queering education and normalizes the consumption of pornography. Watch the video here.

September 14, 2022: Idahoans became rightfully outraged after learning that the IDHW implemented Planned Parenthood-endorsed sex education in schools and purchased materials and training from Education, Training, and Research (ETR), whose curriculum is developed and endorsed by Planned Parenthood.

September 15, 2022: Idaho North Central Health District covertly removed controversial sex education resources from its website in the face of public outcry. Gone are resources on its website relating to porn literacy, abortion, gender transition, and teaching kids to hide their browsing history from their parents. Read more here.

IDHW funding gender transition therapy

According to a lawsuit filed against the IDHW, the agency has been using the Medicaid program to fund hormone replacement therapy for gender transitions. Read more here.

Planned Parent-endorsed sex education curriculum in the Magic Valley

According to the Center for American Education, Reducing the Risk (RTR), Planned Parenthood’s radical sex ed, is in these Magic Valley schools:

  • Filer High School
  • Hansen
  • Cornerstone and Wendell High Schools

LGBT clubs in Idaho schools

Gay & Straight Alliance Clubs (GSAs) are school clubs for LGBT youth and that condition students to be activists. They originally emerged as “safe spaces” for trans and queer students but evolved into “vehicles for deep social change” in the areas of gender and racial justice. There are at least 28 GSAs in middle and high schools across Idaho that are working to further the sexualization of children. Read more here.

Editor’s note: MVLA News contributor Trisha Gronenthal did not find evidence of Planned Parenthood’s RTR or GSA’s on the websites of Magic Valley schools listed above. It will take the efforts of concerned parents to determine what their child is being exposed to.

Idaho School Board Association

My review of ISBA’s Gender and Sexual Identify Orientation Policy revealed the following:

School activities

The District will provide all students the opportunity to participate in any activities segregated by gender in a manner that is consistent with their gender identity consistently asserted at school.

School trips

In the case of overnight trips sponsored by the District, students will be assigned sleeping rooms that correspond to the gender identity they consistently assert at school or to a private sleeping room.

Pronouns

Intentional and persistent refusal to use the name and gender by which the student identifies is a violation of this policy and may subject an employee to discipline, up to and including possible termination.

Confidentiality

School employees should not disclose a student’s transgender status or sexual orientation to other individuals, regardless of setting, including the other school personnel or (in the case of middle school, junior high school, and high school students) the student’s parents/guardians, unless they have a legitimate need to know or unless the student has authorized such disclosure.
