My bill to bring Lava Ridge to a standstill passed the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources this week. This legislation is a powerful step in our fight to completely cancel this disastrous project.
We achieved additional victories for Idaho including passage of my:
- Energy Threat Analysis Center Establishment Act to improve information sharing about cyber security measures across America’s energy sector;
- Urban Canal Modernization Act to allow aging infrastructure funding to address significant maintenance issues facing urban canals in Idaho; and
- Legislation to correct the Bureau of Land Management’s flawed interpretation of existing law to enable aquifer recharge.
- As a rancher and trained forester, I know firsthand the importance of responsibly managing Idaho’s natural resources.
- The Gem State has a long history of leadership in energy and land management. Idahoans, not the federal government, are always best suited to understand and address the needs of our state.
