Twin Falls celebrated the National Day of Prayer on the evening of Thursday, May 1st at the City Park Bandshell. The theme this year was “Pour Out to the God of Hope and Be Filled”.
It was a beautiful sunny evening, that brought a legion of God’s people out to pray for our nation, state, community, and God’s church. Representative Clint Hostetler reminded us that was God who our founding fathers looked to when building our great nation. The keynote speaker, Senator Josh Kohl also spoke on our country and her people; advising that we need to be in constant, fervent prayer and that while we live in a faithful, Christian land, evil is doing everything it can to wear us down.
The Bostock Family provided the musical worship throughout the evening as numerous Pastors and community members spoke on many topics that need our constant prayer. Cory Paulson prayed for the Church, Pastor Paul Thompson prayed for Family and how the family structure has been torn apart by evil, causing the decline of our communities. Eric Fjeland offered prayer for education, while Marsha Hartman prayed for business. Robi Hanchey offered prayers for our military and first responders. Senator Glenneda Zuidervield prayed for our government and all elected officials. Shane Klass was the last topic, and he prayed for our media.
I do want to recognize that besides the three state legislators that spoke on stage, Representative David Leavitt, and Commissioners Don Hall, Brent Reinke, and Rocky Matthews were only other state or county elected officials in attendance. I want to thank all the elected officials in attendance, it speaks volumes to see our leaders, supporting their constituents and praying to God with the rest of us.
