Idaho Swamp Report

As we wind down the 2022 legislative session, its seems like there is no end of bad bills and freedom devouring legislation being rammed through in the last hours.  We as a state have never before faced such an onslaught of bad ideas designed to strengthen the grip of control by government while narrowing your freedoms.  One particular disgusting action being perpetrated by our own republican controlled Senate is their overt lack of concern to protect our young children and their families.

Hello Idahoans:

As we wind down the 2022 legislative session, its seems like there is no end of bad bills and freedom devouring legislation being rammed through in the last hours.  We as a state have never before faced such an onslaught of bad ideas designed to strengthen the grip of control by government while narrowing your freedoms.  One particular disgusting action being perpetrated by our own republican controlled Senate is their overt lack of concern to protect our young children and their families.

Smut in School Bill (HB 666) to STOP pornography being shown to children passes House floor, but is DENIED a hearing by the liberal Idaho Senate!

Idaho Code (18-1514 & 18-1515) defines and prohibits the dissemination of harmful materials including pictures or photographs depicting sexual activities, nudity, masturbation, detailed descriptions of sexual conduct or excitement, and other materials of similar nature to children or vulnerable adults.  Idaho code 18-1516 makes this crime a misdemeanor.

Then, in the very next section of code (18-1517) there is an exemption in the law for schools, public libraries, universities, colleges and museums.

Because of this exemption, our public libraries are loaded with inappropriate children’s books, filled with graphic sexual acts.  Many are too disturbing to share, and available to all ages with no filters.

Referring to HB 666, Senator Chuck Winder (Idaho Senate leadership), said “I don’t think you’ll see some of the craziness that the House seems to like to do get very far in the Senate.  I think it is mischief and something that doesn’t need to happen.”

Well, Senator Winder must have a different definition of pornography than many of us.  I share more in the video below.  Please do not view this video around children.  If you are interested in more detailed book names and examples of the graphics, please contact me so I can point you to the sources.  Regardless of Senator Winder’s definition of “mischief”, this abuse of children’s minds must stop!

Please encourage your friends and churches to  visit their libraries to review books and meet their library trustees.  Your tax dollars are paying for these books.   Your vote places theses trustees and elected legislators who support this smut in their positions.  Elections have consequences.

There is an election in May I hope you will be engaged in.  It will determine the future of our state.  My next update will include my 2022 primary candidate recommendations.

I am ending with a video that shares some of my concerns with the materials in our Idaho libraries.
