HB71 Vulnerable Child Protection Act

Sponsor: Rep. Brent Crane
Summary: Protects minors with gender dysphoria from so-called ‘gender affirming therapy’ by banning puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and sex reassignment surgeries. Restricts gender-confused children access to experimental pharmaceutical and surgical interventions, many of which are shown to cause irreversible medical and psychological harm.

SB 1038 Freedom in Education Act
Senate Education Committee heard public testimony yesterday regarding this bill. Sen. Tammy Nichols presented Senate Bill 1038, Freedom in Education Act to the Senate Education Committee. Education Savings Accounts will allow parents the flexibility to educate their children in the best manner possible, while also creating competition for the public school system. SB1029 Child Protection Immunization Act

Sponsor: Sen. Brian Lenney
Summary: This bill amends and adds to existing law to prohibit a child protection investigation by Child Protection services based on a child’s immunization status and to provide that a court shall not grant an order terminating a parent and child relationship based on a child’s immunization status. HOUSE BILLS
HB0002: No Funds for Abortion Act

Sponsor: Republican Rep. Bruce Skaug
Summary: Amends, adds to, and repeals existing law to provide for the withholding of sales and use tax revenues from local government entities that defy state law and refuse to investigate or enforce Idaho criminal abortion statutes.
Additional Information: Many amendments throughout bill that establish the legal penalty for violation of the statue. The exemptions provided for in subsection (4) of this section 10 shall not apply to any abortion considered unlawful under section 18-622 or 18-8804 Idaho Code. Any public officer or employee who knowingly violates the 13 provisions of this section shall be in violation of section 18-5701 Idaho Code for misused of public money and shall be subject to punishment 15 under section 18-5702 of Idaho Code.
